About Nick
Nick is an enthusiastic and adaptable bass player and tutor, with many years of experience. As a self driven and hard-working musician he recently graduated from the British Institute of Modern Music (BIMM) Bristol with a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Professional Musicianship, finishing top of his course. Subsequently, Nick has returned to BIMM on numerous occasions to share advice with first year students discussing the various elements required to succeed.
As a Tutor
Nick has enjoyed tutoring students of a wide range of ages and abilities, from 7 to 53, from absolute beginners to advanced professionals, for many years. Nick has successfully tutored students who have undertaken graded exams, from Debut to Grade 8, primarily following the Rockschool and Trinity syllabus.
Students are always encouraged to ask questions and bring in songs/pieces they wish to learn, so that they fully engage with their learning. Every lesson is delivered with a high level of patience and encouragement to ensure the students continue to learn in a constructive and fun environment, so they can fully reach their potential.
Nick is highly versatile, and always makes sure lessons are structured around the students individuality and interests.

As a performing Musician
Nick has performed across the UK & Europe with a host of both originals and covers/function bands, with notable performances including; Soundwave Festival – Croatia; Mandrea Festival – Italy; Coronos Playas – Lanzarote; Glastonbury Festival – Glastonbury, UK; Boomtown Festival – Somerset, UK; Café Du Paris – Cool Venue Awards 2016 in Leicester Square – London, UK.
Playing with a variety of bands has given Nick the opportunity to immerse himself in a wide range of musical genres from Punk, Metal and Rock to Jazz, Funk, Soul, Disco, Motown and even Dub Reggae.
Nick’s main influences are; Joe Dart (Vulfpeck), Erick “Jesus” Coomes (Lettuce), Jamareo Artis (Bruno Mars), Divinity Roxx, James Jamerson, Bob Babbit, Donald “Duck” Dunn, and Janek Gwizdala, but he is always getting inspiration from a wide range of musicians and artists.
